The second annual NYC Vegetarian Food Festival this weekend goes way beyond rubbery tofu and tepid soy milk. Tasty treats such as quinoa chocolate chip cookies, vegan empanadas and even vegan marshmallows are the order of the day.

"It shows the range and creativity of these new companies that are popping up," says fest co-founder Sarah Gross. Nearly 100 vendors will fill the Metropolitan Pavilion today and tomorrow with cooking demos and gobs of green goodies such as quesadillas with melted soy cheese, "faux" gras and vegan caviar.
